Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee
Why is a Credit Union a Unique Financial Institution?
Ontario Shores Federal Credit Union is unique because we are a not-for-profit and member-owned financial institution. Unlike banks that are strictly profit-driven, we return excess earnings to our members in the form of better service, lower interest rates for loans, higher yields on savings and investment accounts, and by offering new financial products and services.
Who is Ontario Shores Federal Credit Union?
Originally established by teachers and employees in the Newfane Central School District, the Credit Union has continued to grow and now serves over 5,000 members with assets exceeding 34 million dollars. We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee, and managed by a professional financial staff.
Who comprises the Board of Directors?
All Credit Union Board members are elected by the Credit Union members and serve a three year term. Currently serving on the Ontario Shores Federal Credit Union Board are:
- Darlene Senko, President
- Angela LiPome, Vice-President
- Robert Siebert, Treasurer
- Patricia Ellis, Secretary
- Timothy Lanighan, Director
Who comprises the Supervisory Committee?
The Supervisory Committee members are appointed by the Board of Directors. The committee elects a chairperson that becomes the "financial watchdog" for the Credit Union. Some of the responsibilities of the Supervisory Committee include an annual audit of Credit Union financial records, semi-annual audit and verification of member accounts, and monthly monitoring of Board meetings. Currently serving on the Supervisory Committee are:
- Marty Miller, Chairman
- Karen Huguenor
- Jack Lussier
- Emma Lou Reppentine
- Ruth Weaver Metzger
Contact the Supervisory Committee if you think there is an error or discrepancy in your account.
